    Endorsed with a) Examination of Maria, wife of William Goodman, in Jan 1835, when ill. Supported by parish of Pertenhall. In service of a Mr. Bury of Milbrook for 1 year ( 1824 ), then at Newington for a short while. Comes to Milbrook, and marries there (1826) but only remains with husband a few weeks. To Pertenhall ( where mother lives ) in house of Lawrence Wright, where she has 3 children. b) Evidence of William Goodman, born at Lidlington. Bound apprentice at 14 to Mr. Burdge of Ampthill (butcher). About 7 years later left after a dispute and set up own butchers shop at Milbrook. Married Miss Summerlin. Before apprenticeship, was 3 years with a Mr. Batchelor, Schoolmaster. c) Evidence of Sarah Jordan, sister of late Maria Goodman who lived at Pertenhall last 4 or 5 years of her life, where she had 3 children, namely John 4, Hannah 2, Matthew c. 8 months: Sarah Jordan looks after them since their mothers death in February. She is paid 2/- weekly for Matthew but nothing for the others.
