Scope and Content
Reads- Looked at Tempsford farm but do not recommend purchase. On the other hand, Lady Riddall's farm at Marston is good; tenants has in on lease (6 years to go), rent 170 p.a., name of Neal. The manor of Shelton is of no value - no court held for many years; land good; buildings in repair.
Have been to see Mr. Pearce's house at Cople - they wanted mere whims, new laundry, while outbuildings were to be taken down. In Oakley House is an old man and his wife caretaking; they used to be employed by the Trevors; if the house is let a few repairs should be made, not urgent.
I have advanced money for the election. I will wait on Lord Ossory. Mr. Sawell of Woburn is very ill.
