- Scope and ContentReads- This morning I looked over 3 lists which we have here of all the Freemen of Bedford in all parts of England, disting. hon. from the real ones, which if you wish I will send. I sent Shelton this morn. with a list of 20-30, several of them the same as your list. As I am not able to walk further than from my house to the office & back, I will send tomorrow morn. Murray & Harrington to some of the gentleman, & will go in a coach to some of the principal, & shall likewise send to Ben. Butcher about those in Redriff. In looking over the lists I find 2-3 hon. freemen that I know; therefore should be glad if you will inform me whether any hon. freemen are to be applied to. I find in our lists several more real freemen than are mentioned in your list, & shall apply to such as I can find out.
