"Your authority as Churchwarden is intensified rather than weakened by the fact that you are for the present sole churchwarden. The Various alterations and additions which you name as likely to be made ... ought in strict law to be done only by faculty ... But ... I think I could obtain the Bishop's signature and consent ... thus I should save you from the expense of a faculty..."
