- Scope and ContentFrom: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "I have seen Mr.Benning & arranged with him for Tuesday 31st or Thursday 2nd Aug if either of those days will suit the Exors. By that time I am in hopes to be able to get the money. I return your letter & copy letter sent to Mr.Benning. The amount left is a little over £35,000. I had a letter from George on the 11th to say he would meet us at Hertford on the 17th but no answer from John. I have therefore written to George to tell him, so that he will be prevented having a ride for nothing. I have not received copy Keale's account from Britten. The shareholders of our line are going to have a ride to the Junction on Tuesday, so I shall avail myself of it & if we get in time for the 11 o'c train come on to Hertford".
