- Scope and ContentFrom: William Medland, Dunstable; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "Pray don't think for a moment it is any trouble to me in trying to get you the money you require, oh no the pleasure is great I assure you to do anything in my power for you and Tom. I am getting on you will see by the enclosed letters and I shall be glad to hear from you as soon as you can make it convenient, the security will be all Freehold Tom tells me, so I can make that right when I write. I have now to hear from Blaxland and tomorrow I expect to hear from Lett again as I wrote in answer to know whether the second party had £28,000 or only £16,000 so that I will forward his letter tomorrow. I feel pretty certain in getting the needful out of some of them. I am quite certain Robert feels Tom's kindness very much he has been a good Brother to him and indeed to all his Brothers & Sisters he is a dear good fellow if ever there was one. I can assure you I believe I put a stamp upon Bigg's cheque which answers the purpose if I did not I quite intended doing so. Annuity Wicked This you can send when received I don't envy your visits to my mother. Tom will give me the Rental of the Houses, he has gone to London today upon Railway Business. P.S. If I can manage it all in one amount I suppose you will prefer it, I am anxious to get you a definite answer before you have to meet Burr's Exors. Grover is my Hempstead Agent, Lett my Luton & Jones & Blaxland, Dunstable by that means I keep my business matters in each place separate".
