Reciting indenture 19th April 1766 between:
1) Nathaniel Costin, gent., the then only surviving feoffee of the lands and tenements thereinafter mentioned, then living in Bedford
2) Wm Costin, Thos Kendall, Jn Dodson, Wm Tompkins sen., Rich. Willis, Jas Risely, Hen. Bull, Thos. Livett, Jn. Kendall, Jn White, Jn Archer
Which itself recited the will of William Wells of Barnwell, Northants, clerk, long since decd. dated 3 November 1686, by which he gave for the benefit of poor children of Wilstead £40 to be paid to the churchwardens and overseers of Wilstead in trust to buy land worth 40s a year, in the name of 10 substantial freeholders of Wilstead to be chosen by the churchwardens and overseers, the rent to be used in putting to school the children of the poorest inhabitants of Wilstead, and paying for their learning. He also gave directions for the appointment of new feoffees when the body reduced to 6. This £40, together (in due time) with £10 accumulated interest, used to purchase land of which Nathaniel Costin was the last surviving feoffee. This indenture was CONVEYANCE by the last surviving feoffee to new feoffees of said
... 8 acres arable and ley ground in Wilstead.
