- Scope and ContentFrom: Hillyer & Fenwick, 8 Fenchurch Street, London; To: J.H.Grover "Our client being an Infant his means cannot be made available until after he is of age when he will become entitled to between 4 and £5,000. Under these circumstances we fear that an arrangement with your client cannot be come to as to procure an advance full security would be referred by way of mortgage" From: J.H.Grover of 8 Great James Street, Bedford Row, London; To: Thomas Sworder, Luton "Herewith I send you copy of a Letter received from Messrs Hillyer & Fenwick which seems to me to put an end to all negociation with Mr.Donaldson. If you also think so perhaps the better plan would be to advertize again but omitting all mention of the sum required. If you should ultimately be desirous of raising £5,000 or £10,000 on mortgage I have no doubt Mr.Medland and I could find a party to make the advance".
