- Scope and ContentFrom: Thomas Sworder, Hertford; To: Thomas Sworder, Luton "John Jr of Ware was here on Friday about the Business in Wales. He told me Mr.Loveridge & a Mr.Raws[?] would probably take Shares to the extent of about £4,000 & there then wd be about £1,000 more to be disposed of, so I told him I thought the best way wd be for him to take that share. He givg you a Bond or other security for the Amt due to you. By this means you wd rece about £4,000 & wd get rid of the Responsibility of the Business in Wales. He seemed to say Smitheman was averse to his going into the Dowlais Brewery but I think he wd be foolish not to do so as the opportunity wd perhaps never occur again & he is satisfied it is a good concern. Neither Mr.Loveridge nor John will join Robert so what is to become of him I do not know. I have advertized for a partner for you but have recd no answer as yet. I shd be glad to see you rid of the Dowlais Business. May I send in the [unreadable word] for £200 & £300? 1 want copy Medcalf's Valuation & what Security to me that you have".
