  • Scope and Content
From: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "I went to Hertford on Saturday last on purpose to meet John to carry out the arrangement proposed by Chesshyre, but he was not there. I believe from what I learn from Charles that John can get the money from some other Quarter & that he does not wish to have anything more to do than he can possibly help with Charles. This delay on his part is very annoying to me as you may imagine, but if he does get the money in another Quarter at once it will be as well. I shall be at Hertford on Saturday when I hope it will be settled. When I made the engagement alluded to by Chesshyre I thought of having the proceeds of the Fox at my disposal but that was booked as you are aware & besides this trade has been worse than I had any idea of. With kind love to all wishing you all a merry Xmas".
