    From: Thomas Sworder, Hertford; To: Thomas Sworder, Luton; "I saw John on Saturday last but I could make nothing of him - nothing decisive - I tried to get the Duty Money out of him but I could not. He says he is in Debt at the Bank & cannot. He speaks kindly. I hope the money you got on Saty will set you up but I understand they chge £9 per ct which is enormous. Pray set to work & get your Money in. Don't leave a stone unturned. Let no malting or place remain untenanted. Write to Dowlais & try to get some assistance from there. How do your books stand there? I have just recd your letter from St.Leonards".
