- Scope and ContentFrom: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "Messrs Hockley & Baker have sent Draft for perusal & I want the drafts of the 2 transfers to complete recitals. I shall therefore be glad to have them by omnibus on Monday or the business will not be settled by Friday next the day appointed. Without you can come down on Friday the deeds had better also be sent, as the Settlement is to take place here. Friday next is our grand fair or Statute, so if you come down you will find the Common Sewers in their Holiday costume. There are also a great many visitors from the neighbourhood. Dr.Peile our new Vicar has a Tutor for his 3 Sons & wants to get a few more boys to be educated with them. The Tutor is a married man. I think you were saying you did not know where to send Teddy perhaps you would like such a chance for him. Dr.Peile was formerly master at Repton School & I have no doubt his Sons' tutor is a man who understands the Rod business. If you thought it worth enquiry I would ascertain all particulars from Dr.Peile & let you know. The Dr. does not come into residence till 3rd Oct. I sent John Biscoe's letter and if he did not give it to you on Saturday, I will write to you again after seeing John on Monday. It is a very difficult matter to find Coleman he is to use a sporting phrase "nowhere". The best way will be to sell".
