- Scope and ContentFrom: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "I shall be very glad to have the £2,300, as I told Mr.Bigg the manager that I expected some a month ago and perhaps he will be thinking it has been a long time coming. If it suits you as well perhaps it will be as well to send me a cheque on London for the amount and then I can pay it off the amount due from T&RS to the Bank & Chesshyre will not know so much. He is very apt at making remarks about our being so overburdoned with money &c. The Deeds at the Bank I will of course hand to you as soon as I can get them free. I shall tell Mr.Bigg the £2,300 is paid in part Discharge of the debt due from Robert & myself & I shall get a conveyance from Robert at once of his share. I am endeavouring to draw in all monies that I can so that the capital may be reduced. I have bought more malt than I should have done had not there been a great chance of much higher prices. I write this in haste to save post having been detained".
