- Scope and ContentFrom: Trinder & Eyre, 1 John Street, Bedford Row, London; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "You are aware of course of the decision in the cause being adverse to your Nephew, the C't having decreed a specific performance & ordered a reference as to the title of the Plt to the property. The Plaintiffs delayed considerably drawing up the Decree but at length it was carried into the master's Office in July last & a Warr't t oconsider it obtained. We were then directed to bring in the Abstract & the Objections to the title. The vacation being close at hand we could do nothing before this Term, at the commencement of which we left the Abst & Object'ns. The Plt's Solr should then have taken out a W't to proceed & we gave them ample time to do it, but as they did not move we so obtained a Warr't returnable next Monday when the quest'n of title will be considered. The objections are unfortunately not very strong the principal & in fact the only good object'n to the title being the quest'n on Dr.Pridham's Will. We trust most heartily that this may succeed but the cases shew the Courts do not favor [sic] object'ns of a similar description. Everything that can be done shall be to defeat this most iniquitous suit. Indeed we are in no degree satisfied with the Decree but cannot advise your Nephew to incur the great expence [sic] of an appeal".
