- Scope and ContentFrom: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "I had a very wet journey to Ampthill this morning. It rained nearly the whole of the way there. The business was however satisfactorily settled after some little trouble with Mrs.Cook who at first told the Commissioners she did not understand what the Deed was about. The Deeds I will send or bring over the first opportunity. Bennett would be glad to have the money for 5 or 6 of the houses directly as he is very short of the needful. He would not care so much about the settlement of the remainder for some time. I shall be glad to see you over if you can come to examine the Deeds. I shall be glad also to see Aunt & the Children if they will accompany you. I can supply you with Beds the Luton air will do as much good as the Seaside perhaps, especially if you were all to take a walk up Warden Hills every morning before breakfast. I rather expect my mother over on Saturday with Charles & Polly to stay a few days".
