From: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "The £4,000 has been placed to our account. We are much obliged to you indeed for the loan of it. I can assure you I shall be very glad to be able to pay you back again & I do not care how soon. We have paid £1,000 of it into the Westmill account. I had hoped Archer's Money would have been paid off soon, so that the Westmill account would have been rich enough to pay us back again. If you have a good balance in the Exors Account we shall be glad of the £126.12.9 the balance due on John & George's Legacy. the account is as under John 188.6.4½ George 188.6.4½ 376.12.9 Pd us on a/c 250.0.0 leaving £126.12.9 to be paid. The Weather is not very seasonable for May, but it is good weather for Brewing. Hoping to hear a favorable [sic] account of Aunt & with kind love to all".
