- TitleInformation of James Spacey Gamekeeper for Mr Thomas William Grant of Langford. During his evening rounds he heard a hare 'holloa' from the direction of Mr John Malden's land. It was too dark to find the hare but next morning he went into Mr Malden's meadow and found a hare hanging dead in a snare. He found 4 more snares which he knocked down. He left the hare and waited until he saw James Bryant, Labourer of Langford, go directly to the snares that had been knocked down. Bryant picked up the hare and when he saw James Spacey, he tried to hide the animal in his coat. Mr Grant had the right of shooting in this meadow.
