The conveyance being subject to a 21 year lease of 18 Dec 1962 between DCS and SHS and Bedfordshire County Council at a rent of £5 per annum, allowing Bedfordshire County Council to use the land as a playing field for the village school. Covenants of the conveyance included refusal to allow organised games on the land at the time of divine service on the Sabbath Day. Covenants of the lease included: agreement not to erect buildings on the land; to keep the land in good repair; to keep the existing gravel road shown on the included plan in good repair; to allow village children free use of the land for games and recreation.
