  • Scope and Content
From: Thomas Sworder, Luton; To: Thomas Sworder, Hertford "Mr.Lake the Steward of the Manor of Moorhall has sent a Notice of a Court to be held on the 30th Oct at Moorhall Farm House & wants a Copy of my Father's Will. Do you not think I had better be admitted as heir? If only the Executors are admitted the expenses will come much heavier I have no doubt. I should be glad to hear from you as to this as soon as you conveniently can write. You have a copy of the will. There is a general devise of all the property to the Trustees. The Surrenders from Gilby are at your office. I send you 2 pension Lists. Robert will be glad of the money, so if you have any in hand perhaps you will be so good as to pay it in thro' the L&C Bank. If you think I had better be admitted as heir I will go to the Court & in that case I shall be at Hertford probably on Monday. I am happy to say I am now getting strong again for a fortnight I was not able to get out much".
