  • Scope and Content
    - repair and restore mutilated stonework and masonry inside and out - make good and restore roofs and battlements over the chancel and aisles - scrape and clean off the cement and whitewash from the walls, piers and stonework - restore North and South porches - remove all present galleries and seats "some of which have already been removed and others substituted for them" - take up floor and re-lay the same with tiles - provide new seats of deal - provide or erect a new West gallery if required - lower the ground outside the churchyard and lay a drain to keep the walls dry - build an organ chamber for the organ which has been temporarily removed from the West gallery into the North transept - re-arrange the heating apparatus - provide a new pulpit, font, reredos, chancel steps and holy table Recites (from faculty petition) that no seats held by faculty would be interfered with and all mural monuments or memorial stones which might be interfered with would be replaced unless the parties interested should consent to their removal or refixing in some other position, and any human remains which might be disturbed would be re-interred under the Rector's direction. Restoration according to plans and specifications of Robert W. Edis of London, architect. Estimated cost about £2,000, of which half has already been received or promised, and it is proposed to proceed with the work in sections. Divine service to be held in schoolroom during the progress of the works if a licence for the purpose be obtained from the Bishop.
