- Scope and Content1) Charles Brightman of Silsoe, Butcher, John Kitchener of Flitton, bricklayer, Samuel Taylor of Silsoe, wheelwright and James Pearce of Silsoe, stoneworker. 2) John Richardson, brickmaker, Samuel Richardson, labourer, William Richardson, labourer, William Fisher, Frederick Coles, cordwainer and George Wilden, labourer, all of Maulden, William Upton of Clophill, gardener, Jacob Swannell of Silsoe, labourer, John Simons Gostling, upholsterer, Henry Kent, baker, John Davis, earthernware dealer, William Spurgeon, moulder and John Deighton, labourer (the last five being of Bedford), Joseph Stapleton of Ampthill, brickmaker. 2) have contracted with 1) to purchase for £20 and in order to building a chapel or meeting and school house for the use of the Primitive Methodists - parcel of ground containing six square superficial poles or perches or thereabouts - 2 poles width and 3 poles depth being part of a certain close of 1 ac 2 r and 5 p in Common Meadow - such plot forming the southwest corner of the said allotment. Details of use to which may be put and role and appointment of the trustees. Endorsed with receipt for £20 and witnesses to signatures. Endorsed as enrolled in Court of Chancery 2nd July 1852.
