Report of Elijah Smith, Labourer of Langford, who said that he was in the Steamer Beerhouse in Langford when George King, Market Gardener of Langford, entered and when he saw Smith he said ' You b---y sh-t' and struck Smith with his fist causing a black eye and bleeding to his face. Smith had promised to go to work for King that morning. but as it was raining he didn't go. He was supposed to tie up the straw in the fields but couldn't in the rain. Fine 1/-. Costs 9/6
