At back Printed Order of Charity Commission
a) re Caulcot Charity regulated by schemes of 4 Aug 1876 and 9 Jan 1883
b) re 'The Apprenticing Charity and the Widows' Land Charity regulated by scheme of 4 Dec 1883
c) Charity of Rev. Maurice Farrell, regulated by scheme of 6 Feb 1891 (Charitable Trusts Acts 1853 - 1894)
On application of Rev. Alfred Freer Torry, Rector of Marston Moretaine; Jn Brown of Houghton Conquest; Geo Ed Brown and Joseph Moulden, both of Marston Moretaine; Jas Cook of Wootton, farmer, and Wm Cook of Hayes (all farmers except Torry): The maj. of Trustees of above Charities
Intention to make order was published and the remaining Trustees notified viz:- Esau Denton, labourer, and Jos Hillson, baker, both of Marston Moretaine, Jn Francis Beddall of Kempston, estate agent, and Wm Merryweathers of Millbrook, carter.
Scheme evolved:- 4 representative Trustees (appointed by Parish Council for 4 years - need not be Members (but 1st ones - 2 to be removed by lot after only 2 years but can be reappointed)
1st Co-Operative Trustees to be 10 in number (all above existing Trustees) to hold for life then only 6 - to be persons residing in or having a business near Marston Moretaine
Minute books and Accounts to be kept
Need sanction for creating tenancy in reversion, or for more than 21 years or less than improved annual value at rack rent
Half clear annual income to apprenticing
Half clear annual income to 'Marston Moretaine Educational Foundation' for exhibitions not to exceed 10s. per annum for higher education (tenable 2 years can be extended to 4)
Can give funds to poor and needy of Marston Moretaine or subscriptions to dispensaries, hospitals, etc.
Schedule of Lands:- 4A 1R 24P at Wootton 3A 1R 15P at Marston Moretain (let in allotments) - The Caulcot Charity. 15A OR 6P at Caulcot (let in allotments) Messuage and land at Upper Shelton lot 3R (let to Geo Gillett yearly)
