Title
Examination of Ann, wife of John Newman, concerning the settlement of her son, Jacob Newman. She had an illegitimate son by John Newman at Thornby, Northampton c. 20 yrs ago. This sons 'Incapacity is so great that he cannot give a reasonable answer'. Jacob left Northamptonshire at 1 month old and has always lived and worked with John Newman as a chimney sweep until 13 months ago. Since then he has had various jobs all lasting less than 1 yr. Ann is now legally married to John Newman and settled in Eaton Socon
