Scope and Content
William Maxey, gamekeeper to the right hon. John Trevor, of Bromham came before Robert Moore JP and claimed that on 7th June 1820 Matthew Lilley, Oliver Leech and Charles Cherry of the parish of Kempston set a snare in a barley field belonging to the right hon. John Trevor having no legal right to do so. Two credible witnesses, William Odell and William Garner of Bromham, were produced. The three men had nothing to offer in their defence and were convicted and therefore forfeited five pounds to be distributed half to William Maxey and half to the poor of the parish of Bromham.
