    File including correspondence on the following: - considerable correspondence regarding Kings Wood, a village amenity area, purchased by Bedfordshire County Council and subsequently fully open to the public, used for illegal shooting by poachers and also by shooting parties originating from Bury Farm (1971-1978); - planting of 101 trees by Parish Council to celebrate “Plant a Tree for ‘73”; - protests at activities of Gypsies at Chimney Corner, Kempston Hardwick and considerable correspondence regarding the establishment of a permanent site there by Bedfordshire County Council [see also 33/5 below] (1974-1980); - list of preserved trees in Mid Bedfordshire, including three in Houghton Conquest (1976); - suggestions of locations for tree planting, including by Ampthill & District Preservation Society, Houghton Conquest Pre-school Playgroup, Houghton Conquest Ratepayers’ Association and London Brick Co. Ltd. (1976-78); - nuisance by wandering dogs (1976); - noise nuisance from use of a building behind The Chequers Public House used for shooting by Barton Gun Club [see also 33/5 below] (1977-1980) - nuisance from motor cycle riders at Spring Bank Holiday camp at Bury Farm, including a long letter from the secretary of the National Chopper Club blaming infiltration by Hell’s Angels and others for the trouble caused (1978); - keeping of an owl fed on fledgling thrushes by a young parishioner and advice on the matter from Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (1978); - food hygiene concerns at motor cycle scrambling and other events at Bury Farm (1978); - tree felling and planting (1979); - concern at noise nuisance from events at Bury Farm, with list of events including banger racing, model aircraft flying and motor cycle scrambling [see also 33/5 below] (1980); - vermin on waste ground at rear of 1 Chapel End Road (1980); - refusal of planning permission for processing second-hand car parts at Bury Farm and consideration of an Enforcement Notice to ensure their removal (1980)
