Correspondence on highway matters including: - 1987 Annual Review to be completed by Parish Council giving details of desired work by Bedfordshire County Council Surveyor’s Department in the following areas - highway maintenance, highway improvements, highway traffic management and public transport; high fence at 22 Rectory Lane [see also 14/9 above]; traffic signs; requirements for various road and footway repairs; parking in The Grove; proposed 30mph speed limits on UC124 and 125; weight restrictions on heavy lorries, - considerable correspondence regarding Experimental Prohibition of Waiting Order 1987 and Prohibition of Waiting Order 1988 applying to High Street, including, in addition to copies of the orders themselves, the following: detailed objections to scheme; details of numbers of vehicles parked in the area to be designated at various times over a two week and a three week period; petition against the proposals; letters in support of the scheme; results of a public opinion survey on the restrictions; minutes of Extraordinary Meeting to discuss the matter; colour photograph of congestion in High Street.
