    Recites: Conveyance I) Catherine, wife of Alfred Richard Johnson of 13, Regent St., Middx, hat manufacturer, late Catherine Bull, spinster. Sophia Bull, spinster, of 13, Kilburn Priory, Middx. (The only children and devisees of Jn. Bull, late of Dorteridge, Derby, gent, who was surviving trustee under settlement referred to.) II) The said Alfred Richard Johnson. III) John Davies Steeple Flint of Ashbourne, Derby, grocer. Ric. Garle. Wm. Keates. Ann. Keates. (Executors of R. Keates.) By this deed 1 ratified the above indenture, and 1 and 2 released the hereditaments to 4 subject to a proviso for redemption. Reciting: Death of T.S. Flint, April 1851. Reciting: that W. S. Assignment by 1 to 3 of the debt of £800 and of his moiety of the hereditaments conveyed in 1845 and 1847. Reciting: Death of T.S. Flint, 1851. Reciting: Deaths of trustees, R. Keates, 1847, and J. Bull, 1848, and that J. Bull bequeathed all to his daughters Catherine and Sophia Bull. (I). Reciting: Marriage of Catherine Bull and A, R. Johnson, 1847. Reciting: That III and IV have both attained 21 and that the messuages etc. were auctioned and Wm. Whitehouse became purchaser of Lot 2 for £215. Reciting: W.S. Flint was purchaser of Lot 7 for £1990 and the mortgage debt of £800 was intended to be paid him out of the moiety of J.D.S. Flint in said sum to be paid by W.S. Flint purchased by him and he agreed to convey the moiety. Consid. The above and £215 paid by V to III and IV. Release by I, II, III and IV to V of -(Inter alia) 3 cottages and garden adjoining in Wootton now in occ. of Widow Luggins, Geo. Robinson, Widow Pratt, bounded: N. by public highway to Wesleyan Methodist Chapel and Chequers public house. E. by cottage and garden of reps. of Jos. Dimmock. S. by garden of the Misses Payne. W. by churchyard. 14 August 1852. Abstract made 1899. IV) William Steeple Flint of Jasford Villa, Cheddleton, Staffs, gent. V) William Whitehouse of Wootton, baker. Reciting: Settlement of 16-17 Jan. 1835. 1. Thos. Steeple Flint of Uttoxeter, Staffs, yeoman. Ann his wife. 2. Ric. Keates of same, ironmonger. 3. Said Jn. Bull. Which recited: Will of Jn. Davies of Oxford St, Middx, pork butcher, 23 Dec. 1830, by which he devised to J.D.S. Flint (III), his cottages and gardens at Wootton, but the will was not executed. After the death of Jn. Davies all his real estate passed to Ann, the wife of J.D. Flint, daughter of the only child of Wm. Davies, eldest son of Jn. Davies. That there was issue of Thos. S. Flint and Ann his wife. i.e. J.D.S. Flint (III) and W.S. Flint (IV), both minors. The settlement released the property to 2 and 3 to hold on trust for Thos. Flint for life, remainder to Ann for life, remainder to their children. Power was given to the trustees to apply part or whole of each child's presumptive share for advancement as they think fit.
