"It gives me inexpressible Uneasinass to find by your Letter, that Treacher, Should act with such rogury & Villany - A Man as an Old Comrade & by me Esteemed as a particularly friend & a Person whom I Confided in - should in this manner rob a Man who daily is endeavouring to fulfill his promises - I have been Extreemly ill - but the last half Year due you may depend in the Course of one Month that I shall send it - With respect to the former half Year (Treacher) A Damb'd Notorious Villian that reciev'd the Money from me & now to denie the Matter. He is the Man who should lay where I sometime back was Confined & that to easy a remedy for such a Corrupted Fellow - the Serjt. Major must put him under Stoppages - till Such times you are satisfied ....My Principle is as this - As fortune may favour or things agreeably turn out My Endeavour will be to Make all things agreeable ...."
