Title
Rich. Thornhill. Born Bellinakill, Queens County, Ireland, where his father lived. His father went and lived on a farm in Bellyroan, Queens County, where he has ever since lived. He lived with his father there until 1775 when he let himself to Maj. Edw. Brereton of the Royal Irish Train of Artillery, as a yearly servant "but there was no setled Wages" he lived under such hiring 4 years, when his master died and he returned to his father, as a smith. In 1779 he enlisted in the 151 Cy. 3rd Div. of Marines and served 3 years 9 mnths. (1783). Since then worked as a journeyman smith. Married Cambridge to Frances Adams; 4 chn. all born in different parishes.
