Eliz. Richardson, spins. Born Wymington, her father Jn. Richardson's settlement. 10 years ago she let herself to Rebecca and Jane Day, spinsters, at 2/- per week and she lived under such hiring about 3 months, when Jn. Day, St. Albans butcher, and nephew of her mistresses "came one Sunday to see them & finding her this Deponent gone to Church & her Mistresses waiting on themselves the next Day hired her ....as a Yearly Servant to her ...Mistresses at the Wages of Four Pounds per Year". She worked the whole year and continued in their service but soon afterwards Jane Day died and "Rebecca Day was a very old infirm Woman and ... John Day agreed...to allow her Twenty Pounds a Year for which she was to find ...Rebecca Day Board and Lodging". She continued to do this in St. Pauls for a further 6 years, until Rebecca died, receiving the £20 per year.
