    (i) Henry Adkin of Bedford, gunsmith (ii) George Higgins of Bedford, Esq. (ii) lent £2,500 to (i) at £4 10s percent per annum interest on security of (a), (b) and (c). Parcels: (a) tenement and premises on E side of High Street, Bedford, together with the yard in the occupation of (i), the premises bounded on S by Red Lion Inn, on E by property now belonging to the Trustees of the Baptist Chapel and on N by property late in occupation of E. Page and Company, Ironfounders; (b) parcel (formerly part of Kirkpatrick Estate) in parish of St. Paul, Bedford, measuring 52 feet in width, E to W, at front and back; depth 100 feet 4 inches, N to S, on E side, and 105 feet 4 inches on W side; bounded on N by Trumpington Road, on S by land and premises of George Slater, on E by premises late of Charles Read and then Isaac Cass, and on W by land and premises belonging to John Elger; (c) 2 dwelling-houses and outbuildings, built by John Hull on the same parcel of land, known as Maitland Villas.
