Charles Herbert to Rev. Woolmore Wigram.
Thanks him for his letter of 1st July and for his suggestions so freely given. Has bought Wigram's book "Change Ringing Disentangled" and would welcome further papers as mentioned in his letter. Apologises for delay in replying. He has communicated with the Duke who, "tho' unwilling to place the bells in the Church has very kindly offered to make the existing ring of bells as perfect as possible and to consider any suggestions" which Herbert might make. He will suggest the augmentation of the ring to eight. Hopes he will not be deemed a troublesome fellow.
