  • Title
Wm. Church. Went to St. Albans "above 40 years ago" to live under a certificate from St. Pauls. Whilst in St. Albans he came in possession of a tenement let for £4 a year in right of his wife, being given to her by her grandmother -- Brazier by her last will. He received the rent and lived in another house in the parish. He eventually sold the house to Jn. French of Mimms for over £60, but he never rented £10 a year or performed any parish office. Becoming chargeable he was sent back to St. Pauls "the day of the Quarter Sessions for the County of Bedford - the Sessions at St. Alban's being the next day".
