Sam. Taylor. Born at Kempston, his father's parish; w's. name Eliz.; 2 chn. by a former marriage; before his marriage he lived as a hired servant for 1 year first at Flitwick, then Westoning and finally Ampthill; he was the servant of Jn. Cooper of Little Park, Ampthill from 1761-2 for which he received wages of 7 guineas - 2s. 6d"earnest" money was given him at the time of hiring at Lidlington Statute "a fortnight before Michs. 1761". Since that time he has lived at Kempston renting land and paying taxes to the church and poor & still continues to pay to the parochial rates.
