John Beaumont, rag man. Born in London where his mother & father lived, does not know the parish; parents died when he was an infant. Sent to Kimbolton where he lived with Ben. & Jn. Brown, his mother's relations, farmers & graziers, until he was 21. On his coming of age he received £200 or £300 pounds left him by his father and with this he set up in business as a farrier at Kimbolton "& from London". He followed this business only about 3 mths. He has gained no legal settlement different to his fathers
