September ye 11th 1701: At Henbury for dinner. A soup; a dish of stewed carps; a venison pasty; a couple of turkeys roasted one of them large. Ye second course a dish of partridges; a haunch of venison; a dish of cheesecakes and tarts of ham and tongues; a pudding.
October ye 3rd 1701: At Sir John Smyths at Long Ashton there was for dinner a dish of fish; an ox cheek stewed; a neck of pork roasted; a leg of mutton roasted and a neck fried under. A second course: a dish of roasted chicken & larks; a dish of butter lobster [ a pare bye cramed a dish of stewed staring] a salver of fruit.
October ye 20th 1701: I was at Robert Southwells at dinner. There was a dish of fish, a giblet pie; a neck and breast of lamb, [a gallet] .Ye second course: a goose, apple pie, a fricasee of rabbits, potted salmon ; after a salver of syllabubs, a salver of grapes, another of walnuts and pears, cheese and butter.
December ye 29th 1701: At Xmas we had for dinner in London a collar of [brone]; a dish of plum broth; a ham and chicken and sprouts; a dish of mince pies; a venison pasty; a dish of wild fowl a chick larded in ye middle; a dish of tarts and cheese cakes & puffs. Two dishes at a time.
August ye 28th 1702: I had for dinner at Sir Robert Southwells on Friday: a dish of fish; a collar of venison roasted, a pudding on ye side stand and the venison sauce on it. The Second course: rabbits roasted; a dish of potatoes buttered; a couple of sheeps tongues & mushrooms on the side & boiled crame on the other; and after that fruit - a dish of pears, another of plums, another of nuts.
September ye 10th 1702: On a Thursday at Henbury for dinner we had ye first course: a calves head hashed; a dish of carps stewed; a chine of mutton and a venison pasty. Ye second course a couple of turkeys roasted, a haunch of venison roasted, a dish of pigeons roasted; a dish of salmon; a dish of tarts; a salver of syllabubs & chocolate creams, a harricock pie the fifth dish.
September ye 25th 1702: I was at Ashton at dinner on a Friday and had a dish of fish; a haunch of venison boiled; a fricasee of rabbits; a shoulder and breast of roast mutton; a dish of partiers; apple pie. After dinner a salver of fruits and another of sweetmeats.
June ye 10th 1703: Mr Rolles, Sir John Smyth & my sister & my sister Chester & Captain Price dined here we had: a soup; a ham & chicken; a couple of green geese; a leg of mutton roasted; a dish of peas; a couple of rabbits roasted; a dish of cherry & gooseberry tarts, a dish of whipped syllabubs, a custard pudding the third dish.
September ye 23rd 1703: On a Thursday at Henbury for dinner we had a soup; a dish of carps stewed; a carriett pudding; a fricasee of chicken; a venison pasty; a pig; a pear pie with cheesecakes; a haunch of venison roasted; a couple of ducks; a ham and tongues; and two salvers of fruit after dinner.
November ye 1st 1705: On a aThursday at Ashton for dinner we had for the first course: a pease soup and a piece of boiled beef. Ye second course: a breast of veal, a dish of mince pies; ye 3rd course a dish of wild fowl; a tansey; a salver of sweetmeats after.
November ye 6th 1705 on a Tuesday for Henbury at dinner we had 1st course: a pease soup a calves head hashed; ye 2nd course a dish of mince pies; a leg of mutton roasted; ye 3rd course a dish of wild fowl a dish of potted venison; a dish of baked pears creamed.
December ye 31st 1705 Henbury: a couple of calves heads one roasted and the other hashed, a pease soup. Ye 2nd course a couple of capons, a dish of mince pies. Ye 3rd course a dish of wild fowls; a dish of roast beef; a dish of tarts 7 chocolate creams.
March ye 19th 1706 at Ashton we had: A couple of calves heads hashed; a piece of boiled beef; a pigeon boiled. Ye 2nd course a side of lamb; a dish of rabbits; a turkey roast; a piece of sturgeon; a dish of cheesecakes.
At dinner Captain Knight, Mr Sparrow, Mr Trott, Sir John, my sister Arabella and myself, Mrs Sparrow.
April ye 11 1706 At Ashton: a piece of boiled beef; a fricasee of rabbits; a neck and breast of mutton; chicken & asparagus; a dish of sturgeon; potted venison.
July ye 31st at Bristol for Dinner: a dish of fish; a boiled tongue & cauliflower; a bread pudding; a venison pasty. Ye 2nd course a couple of roast turkeys; a dish of partridges; a dish of french beans; a dish of [tartes?]' Ye 3rd course a dish of dry sweetmeats & preserves; a china dish of apricots; another of citrons and limes; another of crudes; another of cream; another of coolins.
At Ashton for dinner August ye 5th [1706]; a dish of boiled chinkens; a dish of scotch [colapets]; a venison pie; a dish of rabbits; a dish of french beans; a salver of fruit.
September ye 13th 1706: At Henbury for dinner: A soup; a custard pudding; a venison pasty; a fricasee of rabbits; a dish of carps; a couple of turkeys; a dish of partridges; a carriett [carrot?] pudding; a chine of mutton; a dish of pigeons; a dish of cheesecakes; a piece of sturgeon; a salver of jellies; basin of chocolate cream; dish of baked pears; dish of fruit; dish of nuts.
December ye 16th in London at Mr Edwards we had for supper a sack possett; a fricasee of lamb; a dish of florentines; a dish of wild fowl. One dish at a time. Then was sett on the table all together a salver of clear jellies, a dish of almonds and raisins, a dish of dried sweetmeats; a dish of stewed pippins; a dish of pears.
December ye 1st in London at Mr Bannesters we had for dinner a soup, a breast of veal; a fricasee of rabbits; an almond pudding; a dish of fish, a dish of wild fowl; an apple pie; a dish of broiled oyster; a couple of neats tongues; a salver of sweetmeats; a dish of oranges; a dish of raisins nuts & pears; a dish of dried sweetmeats.
December ye 31st We had in London for supper a collar of brawne; a dish of scotch scallops with oyster [lones]; a dish of mince pies; a dish of wild fowls; a fore quarter of lamb; a salver of jellies; a dish of dry sweetmeats; a dish of oranges; a dish of almonds and raisins; a dish of outlandish sweetmeats.
September ye 2nd in 1708: at Henbury for dinner 2 calves heads one broiled the other hashed; a giblet pie; a haunch of venison roasted; a breast of veal; a dish of roast chicken; a dish of plum tarts. Sir Simon Heartcourt and his son dined with us then.
September ye 3rd we had for dinner a dish of fish; a leg of mutton boiled; a venison pasty; [a spare rib?] & turkey; a hare roasted; a dish of cheesecakes; for supper a sack possett; a dish of stewed rabbits; a shoulder of mutton; a dish of french beans, a dish of flummery.
