Deposition:John Fenn, Bedford. His father's booth at Elstow was broken open and several hats stolen. Suspects Jn.Sugar. The Information of John Fenn of Bedford in the County of Bedford gent taken uppon his Oath the ninth day of November Anno dni 1678 Annoque RR Caroli scdi nunc Anglia & c Tricesimo This Informant saith That at Elstowe Faire within the said County uppon Fryday Night the six and twentieth day of October last past, or on the Satturday following very early the Booth of his father Willm Fenn of Bedford in the County of Bedford gent now Maior of the said Towne was broken open and severall Hatts feloniously taken out of the same and that hee hath in suspicon one John Sugar for the doeing thereof for that one of the said Hatts soe taken away as aforesaid one Peter Johnsee gent told this Informant that hee tooke from the said John Sugar which hee this Informant hee now seeth at the time of his Information And further saith not Taken and acknowledged The day and yeare above Written before mee W Foster John Fenne
