    Deposition:Jn.Harris, Robt.Surcott, Ric.Wright and Ed.Arthur, soldiers, late Shefford. 22 Feb. 1679. Went to catch conies, but their dog killed a sheep, which they fleeced and took home. The Examination of John Harris Robert Surcott Richard Wright and Edward Arthur late of Shefford in this County taken before John Ventris Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of peace for this County this 22th of Feb: 1678 These Examinants above named being jointly and severally examined doe confess that they went out of their quarters the 10th of Feb: last in the evening with an intent to kill some Connies and that a dog they had with them did fall uppon a Sheepe and kill it and that they fleasd the ship and put the skin in a pond but brought home the Quarters and did hide them in a barne as Thomas Walsum hath made Oath, and farther say not John Ventris
