    Evidence of association of Geo. Sole and Ric. Rolph with Wm. King and Hen. Clayton, lately executed as highwaymen. The Examination of Cornelius Fullham now Prisoner in Newgate taken upon Oath the 3d day of September 1678 before us Sir Robert and Sir Thomas Davies knights and aldermen and two of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the Citty of London This Examinant saith that he knew Richard Rolph and George Sole of Fleetewick and that he knew Wm. King and Henry Clayton lately executed and that he knew them to be well acquainted with the said Richard Rolfe and George Sole and this Examinant saith that he hath beene severall times att the said Rolfe's house with the said King and Claiton and other Robbers, and hath severall times from the said Rolph's house called out Clayton to goe a Padding, and further saith that he heard from Clayton's mouth that he leaft £30 of the Robbery money of Wattford Gappe with the said Rolfe, and saw Rolfe's Bond for it. And further saith that Clayton lay oftentimes at Rolfe's house with the said King, by the Names of Greene and Cooke, after they the said King and Clayton told him that they sent the Mare of the Grasier robbed att Wattford Gappe to the house of the said Rolfe from the Swanne att Fleetewicke, And further saith that they divided more then £300 of the Robbery money att Wattford Gappe att the Swanne att Fleetewick, And that he this Examinant and his Company thought the Swanne att Fleetewicke a Place of safe retreate, to which place they often repaired, And that when he and his company were persued by a Hue and Cry for the Robbery att Watford Gappe they did fly to the Swanne att Fleet wick where they thought themselves secure And further saith that the Host of the said Swanne in Fleetewicke did send his Daughter on Horsebacke to the Bell Inne in Bedford to fetch the aforesaid Clayton to him this Examinant and his Company. And the said Examinant doth further say that he saw a Letter from the said George Sole of Fleetewicke to Clayton and King in which he told them that he would sett the King's Majesties money out of Bedfordshire unto them. And that since the writeing of that Letter he this Examinant was in Company with the said George Sole att the Three Cannes in Holborne where the said George Sole did againe promice the setting the King's money and agreed with them to have his share of itt if they tooke itt. And he this Examinant hath heard the said King and Clayton say that the said George Sole had some of their moneys in his hands and that they sent to the said Sole and Rolfe for some of their money when they were in prison which money the said Sole and Rolfe denyed them by a Letter which they sent to Newgate, upon which deniall the said Clayton and King said the said Sole and Rolfe were great villaines.
