    Charles Mordant 21 Sept. 1667 Denies assault : heard from Geo. Harris a scholar, that William Watts, another scholar, is guilty. The examination of Charles Mordant of Eaton Socon gent taken before me Gaius Squier J.P. 21st day of Sept, 1668. He saith that Thomas Chamberlains child was at his house on Friday last at schoole, and that he never medled with the said child at any time otherwise then to teach her her booke, but he heard by one George Harris a young scholler of his that one William Watts an other scholler about nine or ten years of age threw the said Chamberlains child downe, and pulled up her coate and lay with her, and this was done in the stable on Wednesday last, and further saith not.
