    Declaration of Hugh Procter of Boxted House, Hemel Hempstead [Hertfordshire], estate agent: - he was 44 years old and had known Leighton Buzzard Brewery (as in schedule to Conveyance marked "A" [see Z1118/1/21/51]) all his life (except Plough, Wavendon [Buckinghamshire] which he had known since his late uncle Percy Procter bought it in 1880); - the property belonged to his uncle Percy Procter at his death on 1 Feb 1884 and was by his will of 24 Nov 1882, proved 5 Mar 1884, devised to Hugh Procter, his father Thomas and brother Harold; - after Percy Procter's death until 1884 Thomas, Harold and Hugh Procter received rents until sale to Harold Procter, John Goldsmith Procter, Jane Procter and Hugh Procter who have since received the rents and enjoyed possession except that since the end of 1895 John Goldsmith Procter's share had been received by trustees i.e. Amy Procter, Joseph Procter and Hugh Procter and house at 10 Hockliffe Street, Leighton Buzzard had been sold and repurchased; - all title freehold at death of Percy Procter except Bull, Stewkley [Buckinghamshire] and 10 Hockliffe Street which were copyhold but had since been enfranchised
