    Purchase Deed & Mortgage Parties: (i) Henry Elsom of Godmanchester [Huntingdonshire], yeoman; (ii) Joseph Allen Piggot of Bedford, common brewer; (iii) William Cullip of Bedford, labourer and William Bandy of Goldington, tailor; (iv) James Flood of Goldington, wheelwright; (v) Mark Sharman of Bedford, solicitor; (vi) Joseph Allen Piggot Reciting: - will of James Bennett of Goldington, carpenter, deceased of 2 Mar 1858 devised (a) below to (iii) upon trust that if (iv) paid 70 to (iii) within six months he should stand possessed of it; - death of James Bennett; - (iv) was possessed of (b) below; - (a) below was subject to a mortgage for 125 from James Bennett to (i) created on 3 Oct 1854 and an equitable mortgage for 20 [see WL1000/1/GOLD/1/3]; - (iv) had borrowed 97 from (ii); - (iv) had agreed to pay 70 to (iii), 40 of which was to be paid to (i), 21 to (ii) and 9 to (iii) Operative Part: - (iv) paid 40 to (i), 21 to (ii) and 9 to (iii); - (vi) lent 97 and 23 to (iv) at 5% interest; - (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) released (a)-(b) to (v); - (iv) became yearly tenant of (vi) at 6 per annum for (a) below Habendum: - to (v) to use of (vi) subject to equity of redemption by (iv) Properties: (a) beerhouse with adjoining cottage, the cottage being built partly over a gateway used in common with occupiers of adjoining premises, which had been erected by James Bennett in Goldington and was occupied by James Bennett, then James Bennett and Henry Buck, now by James Flood and Samuel Marshall and bounded: N by property late of Joseph Barker, now of James Flood, being (b) below; S by turnpike road from Bedford to St.Neots; W by property of Samuel Reynolds; E by properties of devisees of James Bennett; (b) half share in cottage, formerly divided into two, with little orchard or pightle, barn etc. in Goldington formerly in occupation of Thomas Richardson, then Jonathan Lett, now James Flood, bounded: S property of devisees of James Bennett and Samuel Reynolds, being (a) above; N by messuage formerly of Henry Harris, now Elizabeth Harris and Joel Agutter; W by common street; E by former common field of Goldington now belonging to Thomas Hull Witness: - H.W.Morris, clerk to Turnley & Sharman of Bedford, solicitors
