- Justinian Alston the younger died on 2 Oct 1845 during the lifetime of his father, without issue, leaving Anna Hepburne Alston as his widow; - Anna Hepburne Alston married Robert Surtees, now dead; - Mary Alston died on 16 May 1845, Justinian Alston the elder died on 12 Jan 1848, leaving Crewe Alston his son and heir; - the Odell Castle Estate was now vested in Charles Baker and Henry Frederick Alston as trustees [sic, see endorsement below]; - part of Odell Castle Estate is charged with 6,841/11/10 to Francis Twemlow by mortgage of 13 Oct 1848 between (1) Charles Edward Duey[?]; (2) Rev.William Frederick Kerr, John James Kerr and George Leeke Baker; (3) William Frederick Kerr, John James Kerr and George Leeke Baker; (4) Francis Twemlow; - part of Odell Castle Estate is charged with 3,158/8/2 secured by indenture of further charge of 13 Oct 1849 between (1) Charles Edward Duey[?]; (2) Crewe Alston; (3) Francis Twemlow; - all debts of Justinian Alston the elder have been discarged by sums paid under life assurance policies; - (i) was entitled for life to rents, profits etc. from the Odell Castle Estate subject to the two mortgages of 6,841/11/10 and 3,158/8/2 and the 300 annuity payable to Anna Hepburne Surtees; - the above marriage settlement was incorrect in that the trustees under the settlement of 2 Mar 1839 were then Henry Frederic ALston, Charles Baker and William Gale Coles; - Henry Frederic Alston died in 1864 and John Folder was appointed in his place; - indenture of 4 Jul 1860 in which certain premises in Carlton Bridge End were transferred to the trustees for 55; - conveyance of 26 Oct 1868 in which Crewe Alston transferred for 25 a piece of ground in Harrold to become part of the churchyard; - indenture of 18 Jul 1871 between (1) William Gale Coles and John Folder; (2) Crewe Alston; (3) Bedford & Northampton Railway Company in which (1) conveyed to (3) for 525 certain pieces of land, the sum now standing at 560/15/- in bank 3% annuities; - copyhold premises of small value had been made freehold; - Charles Baker died 19 Jun 1872; - indenture of 4 Apr 1874 between (1) William Gale Coles and John Folder; (2) Edgar Charles Baker; (3) Francis Charles Hastings, Duke of Bedford in which (3) paid 19.446/14/8 to (1) and (1) conveyed land in Stevington to (3); - indenture of 1 Sep 1874 between (1) Crewe Alston; (2) Rowland Crewe Alston; (3) Emily Henrietta Dorothy Cecil Alston; (4) James Le Geyt Daniell; (5) John Folder and Thomas Parr in which (3) released (a)-(o) to (5) for 200 years Operative Part: - (i) appointed (iii) to replace Charles Baker, deceased, as trustee under the settlement of 2 Mar 1839 along with (ii) Property etc.: (a) 263a 2r 9p in Carlton, Turvey and Pavenham occupied by George Claridge at 197 half years rent;
