Extract of a letter to Draper from Grantham, Madrid [copy] Encloses reply to Lord Fife, to be forwarded to him, stating objections to Fife's proposal to make an addition to his garden at Whitehall, bordering on Grantham's own house. Instructs Draper to examine the spot, and report on the consequences, and whether restrictions would be desirable and obtainable, also whether Grantham is the only objector now, as several persons opposed it last year. Copy letter to Lord Fife Believes his own interest not served by any alteration. Will only consent provided BOTH that no other interested party objects, and that there is a restrictive clause against building on the new embankment. But will wait till has received a report that he has requested from persons familiar with his house before deciding firmly against it, as he is at present included to do.
