- TitleGrantham, London to Baroness Grantham Describes the King's coronation at Westminster. He travelled by carriage to Somerset House, and then by Frederick's barge, while his wife and children travelled by coach. He comments on the ceremony, "it was the finest and grandest spectacle that the Country or Europe ever saw - so complete, so well managed, so very little delay, no confusion, so splendid and altogether so successful". The Queen tried to disrupt the proceedings, but has little effect. The fireworks in Hyde Park were well managed. Asks for some venison.
