- TitleGrantham, St. James' Square to Baroness Grantham, Wrest Park Describes the Queen's outburst at her trial, which he believes she planned. Firstly she was wearing her head-dress so that it could be moved quickly and easily; she ordered her chair to be turned to face the witnesses; and finally she stood before the witness as she got up for a few seconds, with a defiant attitude, rather than one of surprise or fear. She then roared his name [the witness'] and reached out for him. She only attended once before when a female servant was being examined. He is critical of the Attorney General's organisation of the trial, commenting, "He is by no means a good speaker, nor is he clear". He thinks her supporters are mostly respectable. Mentions the King is unwell. Also mentions visiting Eastcombe, where Frederick and Sarah were also guests.
