- will of Alfred Britten of Aspley Guise, farmer and publican of 19 Jan 1874 appointing (ii) and his brother-in-law Charles Crouch as executors and devising (a) to his wife Mary for her life, remainder to their son (i) subject to payment of £150 to each of testator's five daughters Elizabeth Lucy, Jane, Caroline, Sarah Ann and Catherine Mary;
- death of Alfred Britten on 3 Feb 1874 and proof of his will in PPR on 20 Mar 1874;
- Mary Britten was still living
