- TitleGrantham, Newby Hall to Amabel, Wrest Park Discusses Field's offer of an exchange of land. He advises on the value of the woodland near Benhill Farm, and that they should install a keeper in the cottage in Warren Wood. Mentions the installation of an ice house at Wrest, and that he has made other arrangements for the storage of perishables; "and erected a thing like a large Bird cage, hoisted up between 2 Trees in a wood, by a windless and pullies - which has answered very well". Details his plans for the new gate and fence at Silsoe, and tells her to ask Brown for the plans he has drawn up. They visited Studley, and he writes, "My lady rides like an Officer of the Hussars now". They are going to Doncaster races next week, and they were expecting a visit from Prince Leopold, however he is to go directly to Liverpool on his return from Scotland.
