- TitleMary, Putney Heath to Amabel, Forthampton Describes her tour of London, with Grantham and his daughters. They visited the Tower of London to see the armouries, and the 'Regalia', and comments, "I was really much pleased with the show of Crowns, Sceptres, Swords, Saltsellers and Guilt Plate, very brilliantly cleaned up for the Coronation; tho' the Place they are shown in is ill contrived and poking as possible". She decided not to join them in climbing to the top of St. Paul's Cathedral. She hopes to see more of her granddaughters before they leave for Cowes next week.
